About Our Library

Lineville Elementary School Library houses over 12,000 print volumes and 30 chromebooks. The library works very hard to provide every student with reading materials that fit every need and interest. Students are scheduled for weekly library visits and are encouraged to take advantage of daily open library times. The Accelerated Reader program is used as our reading incentive program. Several online options for research and information are available through our library. Please checkout the links to the right. You can also search our school's OPAC.

Library Media Program Philosophy

The Lineville Elementary School Library exists to provide a wide variety of materials and resources necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Clay County School System and the many programs within the curriculum. The goals of all library media centers focus upon the work of students and teachers and the school's overall goals, of which the library is an integral part. The LES library's philosophy will acknowledge the uniqueness of each student and will assert that materials shall be made available at various levels of learning. The Library Media Center shall strive to provide for the independent study and personal reading of the students. The CCBOE supports the principles of intellectual freedom found in the Constitution of the United States and expressed in the Library Bill of Rights of the American Library Association.

Taking Care of Library Books

Library books that are borrowed from the library are not to keep but to read, return, and repeat! It is very important to take care of library books while they are checked out to your student. Please make sure to keep the library book in your student's backpack when it is not being read. Books are exchanged once a week.

Contact the Librarian

Hi! I'm Kelly Jordan, the library media specialist at LES. I invite you to visit my staff page here. I look forward to getting to know each student, and sharing my love of literature with them. I may be reached during school hours by calling the school office. However, please be aware that during scheduled classes I do not answer the phone; that time is devoted to my students. You may also email me at jordank@clayk12.org.
